Akin Oyedele is a dedicated editor and journalist with over a decade of experience in the field.

Since 2014, he has been a key contributor to Insider, authoring more than 2,000 articles primarily focused on financial markets and investing. He now serves as the Investing Deputy Editor, in charge of the team’s daily content.

As a reporter, Akin secured exclusive interviews with leading figures in the financial industry, including top-tier investors from the world’s largest asset managers, and Nobel Prize-winning economists. As an editor, he has assigned and helped craft these stories written for thousands of paying subscribers.

Before joining Insider, Akin interned at Bloomberg News in New York City in 2014. Earlier, from 2010 to 2012, he held roles as a news editor, reporter, and producer at the Voice of Wits radio station in Johannesburg.

Akin earned a Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree (Hons., with distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

He is from Nigeria and moved to the US in 2013.
